Walton Heath Golf Club

First ever visit to the course. Felt some of the toilet facilities were a bit naff. Had no problems with any of the staff. Felt that there might have been more catering facilities on the course had to wait until the end of the round for food. Prices were as you would expect. Long walk from tadworth station overtime strike on the day as well!!!. Enjoyed the day though.

I don't play golf, but if i did, this is where i would play😁 I love walking the lap around here but with lockdown it has been even better. Sorry golfers 0 everybody else 1. Large enough not to get too muddy and bump into people but also to get a feeling your out in the countryside. Mogador and the sportsman a great diversion when its open. Highly recommend.

Approaching Walton Heath for the first time it feels homley but that is a little misleading. The "driveway" is in fact a public road running between the 1st tee of the old and the short game area. In fact the clubhouse is separated from the courses by two busy roads that must be crossed to gain access. That said the clubhouse is indeed homely full of interesting memorabilia should one dwell. The staff all around are courteous and plesent making the clubhouse experience a welcoming one. Huge putting green embraced by terrace and shrubbery giving a walled garden feel. Crossing the road out onto the heath is a sight to behold, vast expanse of flat heathland, views only interrupted by sentinel pines sparsely dotted about. Both courses laid out intimately intretwined together. The fairway turf and greens of the highest quality. The courses present a unique challenge with heather the dominant feature. I could only imagine how it was in the days of Braid with the sounds of nature audible unfortunately nowadays the roar of the M25 is everpresent. That does not detract from the experience all be it on the pricey side. Well worth its place on any serious aficionados bucket list.
